(Takes a deep breath) Cat peed on WF1100 and there's no hope of repair... -_-

Well, it was from Cobra, it had a pre-installed CIS. I did 3G Opaques + JPSS (and an occasional photo on dollar store gloss paper). Now their Artisan 1430 has my attention. I see they support pigment ink for this printer (for my shirts of course).

Do you think an Artisan 1430 is a good idea? I welcome the wireless capabilities (previously used a dying laptop as a wireless feed). I welcome the extra colors, but, are they necessary for t-shirt prints? Will I actually see beautiful results on 3G Opaques? Also, will pigment inks work on REAL glossy photo paper?

Artisan = $77 for cmyklclm (1 black) (4oz bottles)
WF1100 = $64 for cmyk (2 black) (4oz bottles)

Why not the WF7110? It can use the same inks as the WF1100 and this printer screams. I can do a 11 x 17 in under 30 seconds.

The only downside is that the rear specialty paper feeder only takes 1 sheet at a time. I also had a WF1100 before.

The regular paper trays may be not as reliable with some specialty papers.

Cobra has both refillable carts and CISS for the 7110.

Pigment inks work fine on Epson glossy photo paper. The extra colors of the 1430 won't be much appreciated on a tshirt transfer, not as much as photo glossy hard copy paper that would benefit from the extra gamut of the 1430.

yup.. i agree with mgparrish (which i do a lot on this forum) :D

go with the WF7110.... 4 inks is all you need. 6 sounds expensive and a hassle. in fact.. im stuck with an unopened artisan 1430 while my 7110 is my workhorse.

might just open the 1430 and use it since its just sitting there.
